DrawWithFriends is a collaborative drawing app that values your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect and how it's used.
What We Collect
Drawing Session Data (Temporary):
Session codes and room identifiers
Drawing strokes sent between devices
Session participation data
Photo Backgrounds (Optional & Temporary):
Important: Photo sharing is completely optional. You choose if and when to import photos.
User-Selected Photos: Users can optionally import photos from their device to use as drawing backgrounds
Photo Sharing: When you import a photo, it is:
Compressed to reduce file size (60% JPEG quality)
Uploaded to our servers (Firebase)
Shared with all participants in your drawing room
Automatically deleted after 24 hours of inactivity (same as drawing data)
Consent Required: The app shows a warning before importing photos to ensure you understand they will be shared with other users in your room
Your Choice: Only import photos you're comfortable sharing with your drawing partners
No Full Library Access: We only access specific photos you choose to import - not your entire photo library
What We DON'T Collect:
No names, emails, or phone numbers
No user accounts or logins
No location tracking
No advertising data
No personal information
No access to your entire photo library - you choose specific photos
How We Use Data
Session data powers real-time collaboration between devices
Photo backgrounds (if imported) are shared with room participants for collaborative drawing
All session data (including photos) is automatically deleted after 24 hours of inactivity
We do not sell, share, or use your data for any other purpose
Photos are only shared with participants in your specific drawing room - never publicly or with third parties
Data Storage & Security
Drawing data is temporarily stored on Firebase (Google Cloud)
Imported photos are compressed, encrypted during transmission, and stored temporarily on Firebase
All data transmission is encrypted
Sessions are automatically deleted after 24 hours of inactivity
We do not retain any photos or drawings after sessions end
Third-Party Services
We use Firebase (by Google) to enable real-time drawing collaboration and photo sharing. Firebase may collect technical data such as device type and crash reports to maintain service quality. Firebase Privacy Policy
Children's Privacy
The app does not collect personal information. However, we recommend parental supervision when children under 13 use the photo import feature to ensure they only share appropriate images.
Your Rights
You can stop using the app at any time
All session data (including photos) is automatically deleted within 24 hours
You control which photos (if any) you choose to import and share
You can clear the canvas and background image at any time during your session
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top reflects the most recent changes. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
